The lodge and rooms at Alte Kalkoefen are excellent, with quirky decor and comfortable furnishings. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent, especially the breakfast omelette. The isolated location and beautiful garden made for a peaceful and relaxing stay. I highly recommend this hotel.

The location was also great, with beautiful views, a water hole where we saw springbokke and Oryx, and a hiking trail to explore. Plus, the rustic decor made for some great photo opportunities.

The self-catering unit was a bit disappointing. It had a beautiful view and a lovely pool, but it lacked basic amenities.

The rooms are well decorated and have great views, while the showers are both inside and outside. The breakfast and dinner menus are delicious and good value for money. The hosts are warm and gracious, creating a welcoming atmosphere.

Some guests may find the location too remote for their liking.

I stayed at Alte Kalkoefen Lodge for a relaxing overnight stay. The location is great, offering a peaceful escape. The swimming pool is fantastic and the rooms are very comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to prepare a to-go breakfast for my early start. The bungalows are quiet and comfortable, with a view of their own waterhole where animals come to drink. The food is superb and the lodge is involved in conservation efforts for the unique Lithops plant.

Would recommend this hotel.
